Radio reset procedure
I looked through the archives and I think I'm doing this correctly. Unforunately, I don't have the radio manual. This is a '99 C280. The radio has the telephone keypad on the right. With "code" showing in the display, I enter the 5 digit code then push the button under OK in the display but it is not working. The code is wrong or I'm am not entering it properly. Can someone comfirm this is the correct procedure? If it is then the code is wrong. This is a Starmark car. The dealer provided the code.
Thanks, Dan

I pulled the radio and a sticker on the top says "Original replacement part"(Becker radio). I looked at a VMI printout that I have and it shows the same code I am using. The VMI is based on the VIN so I assume the code I'm using is wrong since the radio has been replaced. So... I'll see if I can get the code from a forum member.

Hi Dan,
I don't know if your radio is identical to the one in my 1999 SL500 but the following is from the owners' manual: After you have entered the five digit code and pressed the "OK" key-"If an incorrect code has been entered and confirmed, "CODE" will reappear on the display. The correct code must be entered once again. If an incorrect code is entered three times, "WAIT" will appear on the display and the radio will be locked out for about 10 minutes. Note: The lock out time will only count down if the radio is left switched on." Goor luck,

Thanks for the info. I only tried twice knowing that these things only allow 3 attempts before "waiting". I won't try again until I think I have the correct code.
