My 85' 380SE has an antenna fixed to the rear window. I have seen other W126 models with the exact same antenna, but some do not have them.

I am wondering- is this a factory antenna and what is / was it for? Factory phone? I am just wondering, because it does not appear that my car ever had a factory phone, because there are no mounting holes on the console area, or does that not matter?

Attached is a photo of my car. Not sure if you can see the antenna on the rear window or not, but here it is. Photo taken a while back: Also interior photo - as you can see- there appears that it never had a phone, unless they placed them in the console?

That is an old aftermarket cell phone antenna. Factory phones weren't an option until the early '90's.
