ther should be a longer number on the metal chassis some where, that is what i need to get you the code

After entering it in, you're supposed to press the 'SC' button, correct?

You press the " OK " key after entering the code.

Got my code from the dealer, after giving him the last 6 ? digits of my VIN.

Hi scott19_68,

That should be your correct code. After entering the code number you would then press the SC button to enter it into the radio. If you still can't get it to respond then you may have a problem with the front panel working properly in which case a repair will be needed for it to work again. That's the best I can tell you without examining the radio for myself.
