Hirschman Auta 6000 EL
I purchased an antenna mast for my H 6000EL antenna and I think its not the right one.
The antenna mast that I purchased looks different and it seems that the new antenna mast is missing a part. I have attached a picture and the green arrow points to the part that I think is missing, does anybody know if this part comes with the mast? I am also missing the part that is located on the fender, it's a rubber grommet and the chrome dome thingy, are these purchased seperately? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hirschmann 6000EL antenna
The attachment shows the "THINGY" I mentioned in my previous post.

I just received my replacement telescopic mast still in the package, as I have yet to install it on my '84 300SD The chrome 'thinghy' to which you refer is the threaded bushing. That is an integral part of my new replacement mast ( Hirschmann Part# 820-902-103 on the label ), and 126-827-0001 MBZ Mast -915mm on another label- probably distributor's number). The bushing must be loosened (unthreaded) when removing either the mast or the complete antenna. The grommet does not come with it, but ought to be a part of the fender hole, so check when, if you did, remove the whole antenna just what happened to the grommet? The defective mast (teeth missing on the plastic belt, so it won't rise up, but with the antenna switch on, I can pull it up; it goes down automatically when radio is switched off). It has a "h/04" etched on the very tip of the mast - but the replacement shows "h/03' - but the Hirschmann Corp assure me that it will fit. Susan Ackermann at: sackerman@hirschmann-mi.com was very helpful to me in my search for the part number. Is your antenna and mast a Hirschmann? Padraig

Hirshman Antenna 6000 EL
Padraig,
I think the old antenna mast was a hirshmann, there is an "h" etched on the very tip of the mast - but that's all I can identify. I took the antenna motor to a local MB shop and they sold me a mast for the antenna. The problem I'm having now is that the power wheel in the unit has it's teeth stripped and it doesn't pull the mast down or up . I am able to feed the plastic belt into the antenna motor unit but it won't do it by itself. I'm in the process of finding a kit that has this wheel and hopefully I can fix it. Thanks for the info.
