1995 E320 wagon stereo update

hey everyone.

i have tried a search on this but couldn't find anything conclusive.

i am buying a 1995 E320 wagon soon and it has the stock tape player, no CD player. i would like to put my own CD player (with iPod jack) in the car.. and possibly install my woofer and amp.

does this involve a lot of rewiring and disconnecting of the factory pre amp, amp, and tuner??? or is there simple, quality solution? i had to have a professional do that on my 1993 300E 3.2.

thanks a lot.

If the stock sound system is anything like my 92 300 TE it's a pain redo. See post #2 in link. However, once done it's quite nice.

I believed that all current Blaupunkt CD/mp3/WMA head unit will have the direct fit to your current wire?
( I just changed my W210 non-fiber optic w/ Bose Setup to Blaupunkt Key West and it is directly plug and play)

Yes, they keep tell me I need the VW adaptor, but for Blaupunkt, I do NOT Need it. (well, Bosch did a good job)

Here is the schematic of Blaupunkt head unit. You should know Slot A and Slot B are identical to your Mercedes.
Slot C is CD-Changer etc...

Nice. I have the older system, so I dont have the seperate tuner nor do I have the amps. Ron in SC did an excellent job replacing the stereo in his car. He has the newer system, that has seperate amps and tuners, so he knows how to go about bypassing and removing them. Hopefully he will come and assist a bit.
