BE1692 installation PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the desire to keep my C280 dashboard stock looking (I HATE aftermarket head unit designs) I opted to have my stereo swapped for a refurbished one from a Becker/Bose repair facility in Southern Ca.

I recieved the refurbished head unit (a Becker 1692) from DHL yesterday, and installed it this morning. The refurbished head unit came with its proper code, but it failed to work. I tried 2 times, then called the repair shop. I was told that the code provided is the corect one, but was given 2 other codes to try for good measure. SO I tried one of the 2 new codes given to me over the phone on the third attempt to unlock the radio. It didnt work. So I left the key in the ignition turned to the 1st point, and left the radio on for an hour and a half. Once the wait period was up I entered in the untried code of the 2 given to me over the phone. It didnt work. In a rage of frustration I tried the code that came with the radio again and naturally it didnt work. grrrrrrrrr

So I called the repair shop back and they told me that I should try the code that came with the head unit again after leaving the radio on with ignition key in position "1" for 24hours.

I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!!

I am wondering if the problem with getting the radio unolocked could be a wiring issue to the headunit, and not the headunit itself (the wiring has not been tampered with or changed.. the OE Becker headunit has been in the car and operational until the day I removed it to exchange it for the refurbished one). I was told I should be hearing a beep when I enter codes, but I am not. Also, the antenna does not raise when the head unit is on and the display reads "CODE".. though I am not sure the antenna is supposed to raise in this mode.

Here are my questions:

Is the wiring TO the headunit a probable reason for my probelm?;

Could anybody tell me why I might not hear the head unit beep when I enter codes?

Is the antenna supposed to raise when the radio is switched on, even if it is not unlocked?

If I am not hearing a beep, or seeing the antenna raise when I turn the head unit on while it is in locked mode (if it is supposed to), and the radio is in fully operational condition (which it should be since it was fully refurbished)
I would suspect there may be exterior wiring issues keeping me from unlocking the radio?

Please help!!!!

ANY advice is GREATLY appreciated.

I plan on waiting the 24 hour period, and trying the code that came with the head unit once more. If it does not work I am going to ship the head unit back to the repair facility and have them bench test it and confirm the code. Luckily it is covered with a 1 year warranty- all maintenance and repair on the refurbished head unit is free... and they are re-imbursing me for any shipping charges. I just want to hear some tunes in my C280!!!!!

Well after perusing around some I came to the realization that I was not puching the "sc" button after entering the security code.

I should be banned from the forums for being so dumb. Shun me to the corner with a dunce cap PLEEEEASE. LOL
