1990 300E 2.6 Radio help....

I wanted to know if a becker 1480 head unit could be replaced with a newer head unit, maybe a JVC KD-HDR1. Besides the new harness and fader control splicing, is there any need to rewire anything to the amp/speakers/antenna? I have located the amp in my trunk, and hope that it can remain unaltered. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also pictures, (i'm new to replacing audio equipment in cars)....Thanks.

BTW: Does anyone know how to splice the fader control, in order to route it to the new head unit?
