Hi gang just-n-time back again,my wife and I would like to put a cd player in this car what type and more importantly what type that will not require cutting of the dash,or altering the car drastically, perhaps a remote unit that can be operated from the present unit?

Check Crutchfield's website, JNT. You can put in your car's make and model and the year, and they'll give you a list of everything that is compatible. I don't know if anyone else has that or not, but I've found it to be useful.

Although some here have said Crutchfield is expensive, we recently ordered a new pair of speakers for a W126 just like yours and they charged half the price that was listed in ther catalog. Good luck!

Over the holidays I put in a Pioneer DEH-4800 in my 89 420SEL. Fit was no problem. I also put a Bazooka box 2-10's and 300 amp in the trunk. Cool until I need to change a flat.

Dee8go, what speakers did you put in? I need to get new ones.

Just a pair of inexpensive Blaupunks in the dashboard. They were still a vast improvement of the old stock paper speakers that were in there. I was pushing for Infinity Kappas, but she wanted to go the economy route.
