does anyone know the speaker sizes for a 1990 126 with the premium sound package(which i believe has ten speakers) any suggestions for an upgrade in speakers?. i am having a kenwood deck and cd changer installed. the oe amp will be bypassed as i have been told that the amp(inside the new unit)will be more powerful than the stock unit. thanks

I would try it with the original speakers. They're not bad and should handle whatever power a head unit can produce. The tuner module in the trunk of my 91 300SE has a sticker that says 25w x 4. It doesn't say RMS, but it plays loud enough for me to believe that it's more than 25w max. I doubt that your Kenwood is more powerful.
I believe that the 'main' deck and door speakers are 6.5" or 6.75" (there are smaller tweeters beside the woofers) and the dash speakers are 4". Not the most useful answer, but the thread is young Oh, and give Crutchfield a call (www.crutchfield.com for the phone number). Regards, Sixto 91 300SE |

Sixto,
Thank you for the info. I will try the system first with the stock speakers. I called Crutchfield and the rep. made the same suggestion that you did. |
