Becker - iPod solution (aux input)

I am trying to find the best solution to hook an iPod to my factory stereo (Becker 1692 stereo, 1998 E430).

Becker offers this, which sounds promising. Anyone try it? I called them and it takes 7-10 days, $100. You ship the unit to them.

There is a product called BlitzSafe, and they also do aux. inputs. Let me see if I can pull the site.

You can try an FM modulator. Link is to an info page for a wired model. http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/ipod/ipod_installation.html?page=5
There are also modulators you can plug into the lighter.

The advantage of the Becker mod, is that it's not modulated. The sound is routed past the tuner. I'm glad Becker finally re-did their site. I'm sending my 300's radio in and putting out the modulator I have in the dash.

I was hoping not to use an FM modulator - the sound is terrible, IMO. Thanks for the reply nonetheless!

I prefer the hardwiring option.

I've also found some sites where adverturesome people have hardwired RCAs into the cassette circuit. Check this thread out -

IIIIInteresting. I have two of the digital ones for W123. I think I will attempt to bypass it myself. Need to rehab the fronts anyways.
