sirius radio
I recently bought a 2004 500clk with Command. Per my visit to the dealer, I inquired about getting Satellite Radio installed. He said it would cost alot (didn't really put a number on it)
Is it possible to have SAT radio installed in this car WITHOUT having any additional hardware? I would like it integrated... Is this possible? There is a SAT button on the command control center but when i push it nothing happens. What can I do to get it intergrated into the command center |
You need a receiver box (tuner) and an antenna and a bunch of wiring and labor to install it all and to "tell" your command Sirius is present.
NO it's not possible to magically have Sirius without any additional hardware. If your Command has a SAT button it can be intergated--with Mercedes parts only, of course. Cost will be $1000-$1500 in all liklihood. |
David did you find out if you can get a reasonable hook up for the sat radio. I have an 04 E500, with command but no sat, would like to put it in but not for a payment?

There are Sirius forums on the internet just like this one. You might try there, too.

Wait until after the first of the year as Sirrius and XM should be completing the merger around then if the FTC and FCC lets them. To answer your question, yes, there are a few ways to do it. Circuit city can install one with the Terk adaptor. Runs around $200 or so. Hope this helps.

Does the Terk adapter allow you to have all the features the OEM setup offers? Do you get to use the steering wheel controls, see the RDS info etc?
