Stereos??

I have an 86 300E. And my stereo doesn't work, I heard from a guy that said you have to reprogram them to work. Is this true?

Based on the following assumptions:

1. the radio is the stock Becker Grand Prix
2. the display shows a series of dashes --------

You will either need to go to the dealer or a becker radio service facility who can reset the radio with a code resetting device. If the radio does not indicate dashes on the display then you have a defective radio.

Radio Problem

Hi cummins,
If you need the radio serviced then you can send it to our shop. We are an authorized Becker Service Center. Let me know.

You have to be kidding.

"no such thing as having the radio unit reprogram, thats worst than being St_p_d don't belive in that A_ _ hole who advice you that."

The original poster simply said that someone told him that a re-programming was necessary. He was wrong. Does that make his advice worse than being stupid? Does that make him an A hole? I don't think so.

Does writing a sentence with 4 mis-spelled words and ridiculous grammar make you
St_p_d? Probably not, but reading that sentence raises the question.
