95 E320 Head unit problems

I have an original Head unit in my 95 E320. I have the battery dissconnected, did some work then reconnected. I then turned on the car and found that I needed to put in the code. I tried but found that one key on the radio doesn't work. I need the 5 button to unlock the radio. I am after any information I can get with respect to a general code that can be sued to unlock the Radio...hoefully not needing the 5 button. This may be completely rediculous but I don't have the scratch to put something else in right now!!!

If there isn't a way around this is there a cheaop source for head units or does anyone have one that they are not in need of anymore?

The deck has a tape player, and is hooked up to the factory 6 disk in the trunk. I would imagine that I need the same one if I expect to retain the function of all its parts

Anyone help ???

Thanks,

Justin

There is no generic code, get some radio removal tools, and send it off.

Radio Problem

Hi 83scrambler,
Just to let you know, the radios are preprogramed to a specific code at the factory and can not be changed by anyone. Service is the only way out for your problem.

Everyone, do remember that we stock almost every Mercedes radio they made and can service all of them. We also have displays available for alot of the navi units when accidents happen to the screen. Thank you for using ShopForum.

code..

if you taken your car to get serviced at an mb dealer... the Radio Code (R/C) is usually writen on the invoice as part of your vehical description......

well... atleast both dealerships out here in kc have it on them...

i have an extra radio i woud sell you for cheap for parts if you want one.... it came from my 94 e320...

50 bucks including shipping? you will have to replace some of the buttons off of yours and put them on this one...

the radio worked fine but has been sitting in my garage from like 3-4 years.. changed it because i installed an audio 10 (cd instead of cassette)

email me for pictures
