Radio Code says "WAIT"

Could some one give me some advice for my radio in 1990 500SL. I just picked it up out of storage and had the battery disconnected. I hooked up the battery and of course the radio asked for the code. I put the wrong code in by mistake several times and now the radio says "Wait". I have the correct code now but the radio seems to be locked up. Any suggestions as to how to get this think to accept the proper code. I unhooked the battery and re-connected it but it still says wait. Ant help would be appreciated. Thanks

Tom Coffey

you will need to wait, can take up to an hour or more sometimes, the radio need to be left on during the wait time

Thumbs up

Exactly, just drive around and let it stay on or blink... then you'll be able to enter the Code.

on most models you can just turn the radio on with the key off, no need to drive it, have left them on over night, will not drain the battery
