VERY bad reception :(
Dear All,
I have a 2000 E320 and have the Bose 8 speaker system (that's another story for another day, lets just say I will be selling my Bose speakers soon). My main problem is that my reception on the stock MB stereo is HORRIBLE!!! I get all sorts of radio stations in my other car but the Mercedes picks up VERY few radio stations. Now the ones that it catches sound pretty damn good. I want to keep the original radio at all cost as it just looks better to me than any and all aftermarket systems. Is there a remedy for my problem? Is there some sort of an AM/FM booster for the antenna or something like that? I would be much obliged if you guys could give me some suggestions and the parts that I would need to get and from where as well as links. Thanking you guys very much and waiting in great anticipation! |

You are not alone, the Bose radio in my dad's 2000 ML320 also has horrible reception.
I think Radio Shack used to sell signal boosters for AM/FM antenna's, most are powered by a 12v source. A good stereo shop might be able to help. |

Among the MANY radio diagnostic procedures in WIS and also in the W210 Service DVD, is one noting that metallized tint on windows will interfere with radio reception and noting as well that if the tint is cut to fit at the window the possibility exists that the antenna wires glued to the glass may have been cut.
There are more diagnostics. Dealer of 800.for.merc for the Service DVD
