Exclamation Can the speed sensing volume (GAL) wire be used for a (VSS) vehicle speed sensor GPS?

I'm currently installing an Avic D3 into my SL500 and have no idea where the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is located. Anyone know? Also anyone know where the reverse gear wire is?

Anyhow I wanted to know, to make it easier, can I use the GAL wire off the mercedes wiring harness, that's the wire that adjusts your stock head unit volume depending on engine speed, can I use this to connect to the VSS on an aftermarket GPS unit?
