Question W124 stereo install

Hi, I've been all over this forum looking for the magic answer. I'm doing a complete sound system replacement in my 94 E320. I know what all the wires coming out of the back of the head unit are for. BUT!! I am having a time determining which wire in the loom do I hook my antenna lead to. Being that my car does not have an antenna switch, what tells the antenna to come back down when the power is turned off. Is this a simple relay in the antenna circuit, or was it something in the factory head unit? Any help would be appreciated!!

well most cars will have a blue wire with a white line thought it. Combination blue/white wire. that is the remote antenna wire that you are looking for. Hope that this is a help.

Are you talking about the wire coming out of the head unit? I've got those wires down to a science! It's just which wire coming out of the dash do I hook this blue and white wire is what I'm needn' to know.
Thanks a bunch!

Red face

well after reading older threads. Does or did your car have a phone. because according to older threads that somewhat relate to this others say that the antenna is in the glass and the external antenna that you see was used for the phone. hope that this helps. as for the antenna if you have a switch i would just leave it down. I hope that this is a help.

the antenna wire is actually a black wire on the becker audio system , it sits on the bottom corner of the unit. its the spade connector without the piggy back on , the other black one on mine was the earth which had a 'lip' on so when stereo is removed it disconnects , shutting off the radio code.
