'90 300E Becker BE 1480 radio- "Wait" trouble please help

I just recently purchased a 1991 300E and i love it. Its a great car, but anyone will tell you that

Anyways i'm having a lot of trouble with the car stereo. I don't know if the battery was disconnected or it was taken out but for some reason when i turn the radio on, the screen tells me to "Wait." I read the manual and it says that you must wait 15 mins with the key in ignition possition 1 and then it will say "Code" so I can enter the code, but it just continues to say wait.

What do i do to fix this?
please help

Drive the car and see if it changes?

I just tried driving the car like you said, and nothing changed. It continues to say "Wait"

If the unit is in WAIT, it means you (or someone) has entered the wrong code.

Leave the ignition on for 15 minutes or 24 hours depending on how many times the wrong code was entered.

Once the unit returns to CODE contact Becker for proper code.

thank you so much
i did it and it worked

for anyone else viewing this, what you have to do is just dakota said. Leave the key in the ignition possition 1 for up to 24 hours then it will say code. then contct the dealer and give them the vin and they will give you the code
