Adapter pigtail for radio replacement?

I am going to replace the stock radio in my 82 240D with an updated on that someone mentioned on the board here (Kenwood KDC-X590). Is there a special pigtail adapter that I'll need? Is there anything else required or can I just pop out the stock radio and put in the new one? Thanks for your time and advice.

Kurt
