Could somebody confirm a front speaker fit? (W123)
Will these fit in the dash of my '85 W123 without any (or very little) alteration? Will these sound much better than the factory ones I have to put up with now? If not, any suggestions would be appreciated. (</~ $100 front and rear)

these will fit. as for the tweeter you might have to cut a little into the dash speaker grill because it might stick up a little but thats no problem. They will sound 100 times better than the factory speakers. in fact your factory speakers are probably torn up. the factory speaker is a paper cone.

If you want to keep the speaker grille intact, no. The center tweeter will stick up to far. so like boom in the box said, you'd have to cut the grille. Also from my experience, you will have to cut one of the corners off to get it to fit. Unscrew the grille and see what room you have to work with. I used a generic pair from Wally Mart, not fantastic, but much better than rotted, dried out original speakers.

There are places that will tell you what will fit based upon your car brand, model, and year. Crutchfield has such information on their website. Maybe there are others, too.

Thanks guys for your responses!
I want to maintain the factory grille so I will take a look at Crutchfield to see what they have to offer! If anyone has a suggestion, please feel free to offer it!

Dale, let us know what you end up doing. I need to replace the speakers in my 1984 300TD, so whatever fits in your dash will probably work in mine, too. I think I'm going to put some Dynamat in mine first. It's pretty noisy right now.
