Sirius in 300SD,wiring and more....????

I just bought the Sirius Sporster #4 kit for the car and home and 'quickly' put it in my 300SD. Right now there are the wires hanging around and i want to permantly mount the unit. I do have the stock radio in her but will put my older CD unit soon. I think I know how the wiring is going to go but if you have any suggestions on the procedure, or what you have done with a similar unit, let me know.

Basics: Since my radio doesn't have a female jack for an ipod/accessory plug, i'm going to use the FM direct adapter to use the stock antenna. I'll direct wire the unit to either the radio or a fuse location so it goes on with the stock radio.
I'll have two wires coming down from the cradle unit that will be hidden as well as i can.

Some questions.
1. Where have you mounted your unit? How did you route the wires? Hide them.
2. Am i doing this right? (i do have to use this radio unit)

thanks

I mounted my S-50 onto the side of the center console, just to the right of my knee in my Lincoln. It still gets in the way sometimes, but that was the best place I could find. Yours is shaped differently, so it might not fit there.

Good luck. I know you're going to enjoy it. I've had mine for two years and can't imagine having to listen to terestrial radio anymore.

I looked at a picture of a sportster and it's similar to my XM Roady. I mounted my XM to the center sunvisor using some Velcro (can swap between 126's). The center dome light provides an easy avenue for power and running the antenna.

I like being able to look down at mine and see what the song/artist is periodically. I wouldn't think that would work well on the sun visor.

Actually handy - no more movement than looking in the rear view mirror.
