Hey all. I did a search through the archives for an answer, but didn't see it. I am scratching my head trying to figure out the trick to getting the factory radio out of my 98 ML320. I figure it must have something to do with the small slots at the bottom of the right and left side of the unit, but can't quite figure it out. I have seen posts about hook tools, but that doesn't seem to apply here. I don't want to break anything so hopefully someone can clue me in!!
Thanks in advance. dj |

Thanks Mark. I did figure it out.
For anyone that may read this later I made the keys to remove the radio out of a couple of blades from my feeler gauge kit. All you need to do is to use some tin snips and cut them to width so that they will fit in the slots. Once you have them cut to width, cut a taper on each one so that when you push it in it will go behind the tab on the spring clips and pull them in to the radio chassis as you push them in. Then the radio will slide right out. dj |
