Speaker advice in my '83 300CD.....

I really do like MB Quart speakers from past experience, but wonder if it is OK to get compenent speaker systems for the front dash & rear deck in a W123.

Anyone done this and where would you install the tweeters?

...

The "A" pillars is probably the best choice. I'm going to be doing this sometime this week and will let you know how it goes.

Thanks. I don't see myself going the Dynamat way at least yet. I haven't had any issues with noise even in my diesels since I may just crank up volume fairly high most times.

I did just get delivery today of the new speakers though.
Fronts are standard Boston Acoustic S-45's 4"
and rear deck are MB Quarts PCE-213s 5.25" components with crossovers.

The HU is a Pioneer DEH-P5900IB which I had in my 190E and is a very nice and easy to operate piece. Also has decent power on it's own.

Since I never put in rears like these with crossovers and the extra 1" tweeters, any advice is appreciated.
