I just removed the old becker out of my 92' 300e. it has two spkr wire sets connected into a loop, A thick blue wire spade connected to radio and three other plug in harnesses. Could some please loosely identify.

alright the blue is probably the wire that tells the antenna to go up and down. if you buy an aftermarket wiring harness then all this mess will be delt with.

92 300E Alpine

I'm sure that by now you have your new Alpine installed. I also have a 92 300E with a Becker that I'm replacing. I'm considering the Alpine 9884 from Crutchfield. The stock speakers are to remain. Is there an easy method to complete this job

The 9884 is the one I was thinking of putting in my SEC. Why aren't you planning to replace the speakers? I would think you'd want to get rid of those old paper ones the factory put in.

The factories aren't that bad, IMO, at least in the sense of being livable. You can definitely upgrade to a better HU without doing the speakers and have a fine improvement in your audio experience, assuming your speakers are in good stead. That said, replacing the speakers is a good next step. I replaced the HU with the Alpine iDA-X100, and I'm looking forward to replacing the speakers and adding a sub at some point. I'd love more/better bass. But as it stands (aftermarket HU + factory speakers), it's not unlivable.
