Did you have woodshop in high school?

Were you cool with the teacher?

Whenever I need to build sub boxes, I go to my old highschool woodshop and build one... The teacher is super cool.

I had a shop but I recently found out that the school principal gave away all of the tools and machinery and made more room for the ceramics class that had half of my shop.. sooooo that is out

a sealed box from ebay should be fine. They appear to have good construction. I'll even craigslist surf for any

Before my sub box arrives I need to know some info before

like

How many feet of 8 gauge wire do I need to wire from the head unit to the trunk in a w123 sedan. I plan on buying an amp install kit from bestbuy (same price as crutchfield, but different brand)

and

how should I secure the sub box in the trunk?

other than that and running the wiring.. I should be fine

I used a STREETWIRES PSK08R 8-Gauge 300W POWER STATION Series Amp KIT in my wagon. It had an 18' cable and I used it all except about 6". I would think you would be close to that with a sedan too.

it doesn't seem to come with the RCA or w/e cables to hook up to the amp from the headunit

how about this

Cool ... that has everything and it's a good price.

I bought the RCA cable separately.

with shipping the kit from crutchfield comes to $57

routing it will be fun.

I can run the power wire down the passenger side of the car and then run the RCA and other wire on the drivers side, or the transmission hump.

While I'm in there I'm going to convert the stereo from a 2 channel to a 4 channel .. plus.. figure out what wire in the car is a constant 12 volts so I can have the memory setting on my head unit. work

Plus the sub box you sold me has some excess wire on the amp(as per the picture)... all I would need is the appropriate connectors and I'd be good to go

I just placed an order for the amp install kit from crutchfield. I can't wait to get it installed..

I just realized something.. When I was at the delorean tech day one of the delorean guys asked if anyone needed a small box of 60 amp fuses(glass cylinder type).. I said I'd take them.. I'll find a use for them and .. viola now I have a use for them

I wish I'da seen this thread a few days ago. I have a bazooka tube type sub sitting in my garage, taking up space.

I just went and looked at it. It's a Pioneer, bass reflex subwoofer, max input 250 watts. Probably a little smaller than what you were looking for.

too late.. I already ordered the kit from crutchfield... It's made by Rockford Fosgate.

I read the reviews on the cheap kit from Scosche and it had a lot of negative reviews due to shoddy quality

Cool ... then you could build in a pencil holder and an ashtray. Better yet, you could make it out of papier mache.
