1986 300e Antenna and Alarm after radio replaced

Hello,
I have a number of questions:
I replaced the Becker Radio with a cdplayerreceiver.
Then the antenna up/down action stopped working and the alarm which had never worked comes on everytime I lock the car.
When I took the Becker out I had removed the wiring going to the fader - this also had a brown and blue/white wire which I couldn't see the purpose of . These were cut off and taped. What was the purpose of these - they were connected to 2 pins on the fader which were not connected to the speakers at all.
Since then after reading a bit about the radio alarm I have earthed the earth alarm cable which I removed from the Becker but the alarm still comes on when I lock the car (from drivers door or the trunk).
I have disconnected the alarm horn so I only get the light show when I lock the car.
At the antenna motor connector I am getting 12 volts at the pin which has two wires soldered to it but nothing on the other non earth pins when I operate the up down switch with the radio on.
I have connected the new receiver antenna control cable to the purple cable that the Becker was connected to.
I have not tried getting the motor to work just by itself (Connecting 12v to the two pins)
Is there a relay involved with the antenna motor? How do I find it?
Thanks.
