Original Radio for EURO 1985 Mercedes 280 sl

I have a EURO 1985 Mercedes 280 sl with a Pioneer radio/cd player.
I would like to know what would the original factory installed radio would of been for my car . Were they of good quality ? Were they just AM/FM Radios? What would one in good shape of that vintage cost me to buy now. Thanks for any tips. My car is on display in the shopforum gallery if anyone is interested at taking a look at it.
Thanks so much for all your help in advance. Bill

They look cool, the FM reception is so-so, and power is an AMAZING! 7 watts per channel...

I think I have a few laying around, they need to be fully refurbished but finding one is difficult to begin with.

LOL yup. I've always wondered what the range was on those... 100-10k Hz perhaps?

Thank you MBeige - Hit Man x and Strife.

Thank You gentlemen (and there is few of us left) for the great info on the Becker Radio.
I live in Vancouver British Columbia Canada .
Our car Insurance is run ( mostly ) by the Provincial Government and if your vehicle is 25 years old it is eligble for Collectors License plates. There are a lot of hoops to jump thru to have your vehicle eligble for Collectors Plates. The main advantage is cheaper Insurance.
The car must be all stock. Original color paint , upholstery , carpeting radio etc. I`m O.K. on all items except my new leather interior. IT is not the same as the car came with from the factory nor do I have a Becker Radio. You can get exemptions for various reasons.
That is why I posed the Radio question.
I still have two years to go to qualify so I`m starting to research things out and trying to decide if I reall want Collector Plates.
Thanks again gentleman and have a great day and watch those boys in blue hiding under the over passes..... Bill
