How can I change it back so the radio will shut down automatically? BTW, Fuse #10 has not blown. Thanks for any suggestions.

Working as designed.
9 years on original battery I take it you have a 1999 MY truck.
After you shut off the engine, the radio will continue to play for a specific time period (15 to 20 minutes? IIRC) if you do not exit the vehicle. Once you open the front door, the timer stops and the radio should quit playing.
Not just the radio, the power windows also would have power after you shut down the engine until it times out unless you open the front door in that time period.
Don't know if you can change that option in the AAM or not for a 99'.
