Do what I did.
Dont use the stock one, I built a whole new one for my aftermarket head unit. Its not too hard to do. The thing that could he a pain is the removing of:

Old radio
Cluster (you'll need a 27mm socket to pull the steering wheel ('72-'85)
glovebox liner (4 plastic set pins)
Door sills (5 phillips screws each)
Back seat (if its an SLC) (10mm socket for seat back)

Its not really hard to do, it could just be a little time consuming. For me is took probably an hour to remove all these pieces, they all come out easy.

The becker radio from the factory was an "aftermarket" item and is not covered in the FSM, I have yet to find any literature on it.

Sounds sweet! I'll see if I have a diagram when I get home from work tonight (well, early tomorrow morning actually).
