Where to run wire from head unit to seat

'92 W140, 300Se

I just installed an 8 pin DIN to RCA cable on the back of my head unit, BUT I can't figure out WHERE I can run my rca cables from behind the head unit to the seating area.

I tried to find a hole behind the ashtray but I didn't see anything. To be honest I really didn't fully remove the entire ashtray because it felt like it would crack at any moment the plastic is so fragile feeling.

But I pulled it most of the way out and searched under the cigarette lighter area and didn't find ANY holes. I also saw behind the ashtray there were plastic walls separating the head unit area from the ashtray area.

So my question is, if anyone has experience or knows, where can I run my cables from behind the head unit to the passenger compartment without having to cut (at least many) holes.

This may seem like a silly question but it seems like the inside of the console is "compartmentalized" so I just don't see any openings from the rear of the head unit leading to the seating area. I was thinking it may be possible to pull out the wood surrounding the window switches and run it basically underneath the ashtray area and come up through the gear shift but I'm not sure it that's even possible.

Input is appreciated.

Thanks
