Hello,

I just purchased an 1987 300E and I hear static from the right side front and back spearkers when the engine is running and even when it is off. This also happens when the radio is powered off and the engine is not running, is this going to eat up the battery?

I checked the fuses and the engine compartment for any loose wires. I did find two wires just hanging there with electrical tape on the connectors. I think this was used for a phone connection at one time.

When I turn the radio on I don't hear the static or krackling, and it's not because the music is loud, I have been unable to get anything on the radio.

I appreciate any input on this.
