Becker Grand Prix in a 126 - Removal
Hi,
I have a new Becker to replace the non working Becker in my 1984 300SD. Can someone help with instructions on removal. I don't want to damage my console. Thanks

Two tabs on bottom of the radio that you push on with a screw driver....remove the ash tray first.

If the stock radio comes out like the aftermarket ones its cake:
Remove the ash tray, pull out the tray itself and you will see two small black screws. Carefully remove them. (If you drop them your screwed, the console will eat them!) Than its a friction fit, the tray will pop out, just unplug it when you can get at the plug. After that the radio should push right out. Put your hand behind it and start to push, AFAIK nothing other than a friction fit. Unless MB did something different with the stock Beckers. If they did you should be able to figure it out once the tray is out.

On my car there were two silver tabs that held the radio in place. You could see them once the ashtray was removed. Just pry them gently down and the radio slides out.
