2006 CLS 7,000 miles just bought it the other day. My command center powers on and then powers off after maybe 30 seconds. None of the keys (navi audio map sat ect) are powered on.

The first step is to check the Tele-Matics system (COMAND, CDC, NAVI, CTEL, etc.) for fault codes. Any of these components could cause the problem you're having. The next move depends on what, if any, fault codes are found.

From your description, it sounds like you need the latest version software for the COMAND head unit.

It's under warranty--go to dealer.

Second that, still under warranty. Let the dealer deal with it. It will probably needs a software update or possibly something else on the MOST system may have taken it down.

Shoot yeah, I third that. I'd like to learn as much as I can about fixing my cars, but not as long as the dealer will fix it at MB's expense. I've seen a CLS with a bunch of its computers and wiring pulled out. I would touch that with a ten foot pole!
