1989 300E radio question
My 1989 300E radio does not work any more. I want to take it out and put in an aftermarket cd player. The question I have is do I have to run new speaker wire to the speakers from the deck or can I use the original wires that are already there?
Thanks, Fab |

You can use the original wires....
If you buy your head unit from Crutchfield, they will provide the connector for you speakers AND you head unit. You do not have to splice any factory wires. I am not associated with them, just a satisfied customer.

You can use the original wires, but you will have to either purchase or make an adapter because the plug heads will not be same. If you are handy with a soldering iron, should be no problem just tedious.

Yup. Crutchfields.
Depending upon your unit, you MAY have to wire to/around the fader switch on the console (I had to), in order to make the new fader work right. Pretty simple, though. Just requires pulling the wood panel around the shifter.

I ve tried Crutchfield. They make it for all other cars but Mercedes. You will have to cut the fader switch out and solder the factory wires to the new radios connector since there is no wire harness available.
