I do know that but almost any sub cannot accept 4 gauge wire, hell the largest terminal I have seen is like 10 gauge.

Isn't there a point of diminishing returns for efficiency as far as wire gauge goes? I'm guessing that point must be at around 10 gauge.

No, there isn't the larger the gauge the less resistance. The electricity doesn't disappear in the wire its always there so the larger the better, always. If you where correct than there would be no use in using 4 gauge or 0 gauge.

Yeah, but my point is that somewhere along the way you're spending money on heavier wire whose increments for efficiency are getting smaller and smaller, aren't you?

heavier gauge, more electricity can flow... smaller less electricity and more resistance
in electrical stuff resistance is futile |

Well that is true to a extent but if you know where to get the wire you can get the good stuff for close to the same amount.

Can anybody confirm that the basslink will actually fit under the seat in a W126? According to the specs on crutchfield it is almost 10" thick. I would also like to get a bit more bass, but don't want a sub in my trunk.
The blaupunkt is just under 4" thick.

The basslink won't fit under anyone's seat. I know several w123 owners that use the Blaupunkt. They say it "just" fits under the seat.

the bass link will fit better in the w126 trunk than my pair of ghetto blasters I bought from chad. In terms of sacrificing trunk space, its a lot better to put a basslink in the trunk than two 10" JL's lol

"Space or bass" ... sounds like something that should be on a brochure.

I think I'm going to put the BassLink in the trunk. It seems like a good trade off. I mistakenly had the idea earlier that the BassLink was thin enough to go under the seat.
