Hey Guys,

I own a 1985 SL 560 and I love it... still runs like an A... however I have one problem with him... about a month ago the top part of the rubber sealing of the antenna came off when washing the car... I didn't replace it until my dad told me to do so immediately (I currently live here in the States, Family lives in Germany!) I didn't drive it for like a month or so either and it was really cold and snowy during that time... ( I have no Garage here )
When I drove it again after that period, the antenna went up and after like 20 seconds it just went back down, it then went back up half way and then went back down like twice and now it will not do anything anymore! The Mercedes Dealership told me it would cost about 500 USD, which my dad told me is a rape!
Can anyone tell me, what I can do about that? And how do I put the new rubber part on there? Do I have to take out the box with the antenna in order to do so?
I am lost...!
