Reception generally is poor. Should I notice a big bad change in reception when I disonnect the antenna. I would expect so but when I disconnect mine it is pretty much the same. I hear some static also. The radio is brand new and the past radio had bad reception also.

Where should I check? Is there any test I can make? I want to change the plug that screws onto the base of antenna mast in the trunk.

Anbody know if this can be purchased at Radio Shack?
