Antennae mast for Myrtle
I thought I posted this already, but my post seemed to dissapear. anyways, how do I know which antennae mast that I need to replace the missing one on my 83 240d. There seems to be the option of smooth or toothed masts, how do I tell which I need without having the original?
Thanks |

Get the toothed one, it works as a replacement for both types.
Does your 240D have a power antenna? Mine has a manual one, grab and pull to raise.

Yeah mine has the power antennae. The power motor box has a company name of "H", it just says "h", anyways, the orginal owner never replaced the mast, he just threw it away I guess. Each time I turn the radio on or off, I can hear the power antennae motor run. I took apart the power motor box and everything looks pristine inside. The little tension roller moves freely, and it all looks great. I will order a toothed mast then, that way it can properly raise and lower like it should. I thought about getting an autozone standard stationary antennae, but somehow Myrtle whispered to me "dont cheap out on me bro, Im not a Ford, Im a Merc"
So I had to do as he asked and fix it right. |
