no sound from speakers 05 cdi

I have an o5 cdi with nav and Harmon Kardon system I am not getting sound from the speakers. On the display there is a picture of a speaker with a line through it. I thought the mute was on so I pushed the mute button. The picture is still there and still no sound. Is there some other way to turn off the mute if thats what the speaker picture means.

Muting that can't be unmuted is normally only possible if a teleaid call is active. You might want to start a call (press the I button under the arm rest) and end it (press END on radio) and see if anything changes. But, i doubt this will help.

If pressing the mute key, or turning the volume knob doesn't make the mute symbol go away, there is something quite wrong. Some basic troubleshooting information: Since the head unit (display unit in dash) is running, than the MOST (fiber optic) ring is intact and working properly. This is good news, at least.

Is the car still under warranty? If so, goto the dealer! If not and you want to get your hands dirty, let me know.

Jaime,
Thank you for the information. I did as you suggested and it worked. I don't know if I somehow pressed the button and opened a call and never closed it. I really appreciate your help.

Jim
