Becker plays softly?? Help!
In my 1985 300D the factory Becker plays but only at a VERY soft volume. Once in a while it will play normal for a few min then back to low volume. The volume switch seems functioning normally.
My mechanic removed the radio, checked connections. Even tried swapping out radio (with a factory repaired one he had on the shelf) and the balance dial in the console all with no luck. Is there another set of connections or an amplifier that we're missing? Do you guys recommend swapping out the radio/sterio for something more current? (Alpine or such) And is there a way to get great sounding audio in this car without the "sure, how much $ do you have" comment? I do understand that the replies will be subjective but 500 miles a week in this without sound bites!  Thanks for your help! Hip
