W123 Stereo Installations

Looking for examples of nice and clean stereo installations in W123's including 240D, 300D, and 300CD. I've searched around, but almost all work is simple PnP of factory HUs and speakers. Having owned a '90 300E before, I know I originally just replaced the factory front speakers with Alpine 4" components....

I'm looking for clean installs of aftermarket HUs, speakers (larger), amps, and subwoofers. Thanks.

Check out this thread:

It has all the pics of the head unit, USB port, Sub and amp installations I did in my 1985 300CD.

I upgraded everything in my TD too, but you only asked for Ds and CDs.

Good stuff... yea I'm mostly looking at sedans and coupes at this point, maybe a wagon. I'm planning on something along the lines of: HU > X-Overs > Amps > 6.5" Front Components (Woofer and Tweeter) and 10" Single Sealed Sub.

I just need to figure the mounting locations for 6.5", either in the kick panel or doors and venting the sub into the cabin.

I know my thread has been up here before but it is worth visiting as I have made changes to the system. I removed the Nakamichi crossovers from the glove box and are using A/D/S 642xi crossover with remote bass control.

Yes, I have your thread already bookmarked , great installation. I wish there were more like yours, but I can't find any on here, benzworld.org, diymobileaudio.com and ICIXsound.com. No installs in W123, any other sites to look for?

Chad, Do you install a sub in the TD? If so, where?

Never mind... found it.

Anyone have a "spare" palimino spare tire cover I can hack on?
