Remounting my sub on rear deck

I had my sub mounted like this in my 260E:

Ignore tint...old pic.

There were more vibrations than I really wanted so I am building a baffle board out of MDF and covering the rear deck with FatMat.

Day 1: Took me about 1.5hours to get everything off...The rear side pillars were the worst...I broke almost all the clips. I hate the design.

I get my 25ft^2 of FatMat tomorrow and I will first cover the entire deck once its clean. Then I'm heading to Home Depot to buy 1ft x 2ft 3/4" or 1" MDF to mount the sub onto then sealing it with liquid nails, screws and sealing then caulking the sides to keep it vacuum-proof.

I will continue to post pics as I progress.

Alrighty...

I am going to have big problems if I have anything larger than this as I don't want to cut up the deck cover except under the medical box. I will mount this one and see how it sounds and go from there. Its easy enough to make a bigger one and figure out a 2nd gameplan if it still doesn't sound where I want it to be at.

Gonna screw it down and post back in a few hours...taking a break

The board ended up breaking as it was too thin (I had a feeling it would...) so I had to change the design to make it thicker. It worked out perfect.

Not bolted up yet, but when pressed down, NO vibrations!! BIG success!! There is no change in quality, but the fact the vibrations are gone as just amazing. I am VERY happy
