Antenna don't work with new radio!

Every thing seems to be going great , got new speaker wire and new speakers running sounds great. Just ready to install unit into dash but the antenna will not operate like it did with the Becker in it. I got the blue wire in the Mercedes hooked up to the one on my radio that say for power antenna. There is one single black wire that was attached to the back of the Becker that I don't know what it was, it's not hot. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the antenna. Has anyone run into this problem before. Can't wait to finish this installation.
Thanks for any help from anyone anywhere.
Jimmy

Working from memory -- the blue wire is probably for the dial light, black is for the antenna. Try checking the black wire with a meter or test light. It should have power only when the radio is turned on.

When that black wire is energized, the antenna goes up.

Thanks guys , I hooked the black wire to the wire on the radio that is for power antenna, and that works . So I'm guessing that I don't need that blue wire that went to the becker radio.? I guess I can just ignore that one.
Now I just need to figure out how to fix my cigarette lighter so I can have power for 12 volt devices. It looks like some thing is missing. I may have to by pass the lighter and install a 12 volt accessory plug in somewhere.
Thanks a million for the help , I'm almost there.

The cigarette lighter works, the only thing missing was some of my brain cells.
