Question A quick easy question

Before I tear into it, just want to know, do I need an antenna adapter to put an after market HU in my 420SEL?

A standard USA brand, probably Clarion or Kenwood.

There are cable adapters that will allow you to use the existing antenna insert, so NO, you don't have to toss your existing Hirschmann...

...I had a new Blau HU in my 300E, and it still accepted the old-style antenna...just needed to get a 6' extension since it was originally connected to the trunk control interface and now needed to extend all the way to the dash.
