hirschmann antenna goes down only
I took apart my antenna because it was stuck in the down position. Cleaned it up some and re-greased it. Then I extended the antenna to check it if was dirty. I hooked it up to my car, plugged in the ground wire and the small wire harness, but it turns out that my antenna goes down fine but it won't go up.
Could one of the wires be bad? |

What kind of car? A honda? A chevy? Some specific type of Mercedes that may assist in troubleshooting?
Do you have an antenna switch on your dash? Is it in the "off" or down position? Did it ever go up on it's own? Factory radio, or aftermarket? 3 wire or 5 wire harness? It sounds like the antenna is not getting a signal telling it to extend. Without more info, everything is pretty speculative. Do you have a multimeter? If so, that may help in providing troubleshooting advice. |

It's a Mercedes. 1990 300SE. It used to work fine, but then started to stop half way when retracting. The radio is a Clarion. I did check to make sure the antenna switch was on. It is a 5 wire harness. We do have a multimeter.
