radio won't turn off
 

Hi, I searched the archive as directed but couldn't find this. Periodically my radio refuses to turn off. For example, yesterday I went to change my spark plugs. I opened the car to pop the hood and sure enough I hear a fairly loud static noise coming from the front left speaker. I hit off on the Becker, but to no avail. Any help? Also (related?) my drivers side window doesn't hasn't worked for 2 days. I don't hear anything so maybe the switch is bad? Thanks.

The Beckers are a bit tempermental. Mine currently will not play anything but is on all the time. Pressing the on/off button does nothing. I will have to go to the dealer to have them reset it.

Mine in the past has does things like yours. I think I just removed power at the battery for a few moments and it went back to normal.

I am now looking to replace the radio as I am tired of having it reset.

I just replaced my Becker on the 300TD with a Kenwood CD player. A lot better. No more re-setting.

Driver's window doesn't work, how about the right rear? If it doesn't work as well, replace the fuse. The windows are tied together lf/rr, rf/lr.

Regarding the rafdio, i think I'll just get another one :(
regarding the window, I just tried the right rear and it along with the right front and left rear all work fine. Maybe the switch is bad?

A lot of people bash Becker radios, and I've had the same problem as you which was fixed under an extended warranty. I do like having a stock appearance, and mine now works well.

They may have an easy fix.

I just won an eBay auction for a Becker Grand Prix 2000. They have been going for about 100 Euro. I got mine for 51, but it has to be shipped from Germany. I hope it works out.

Is there a CD unit that will fit into my extra center consol slot that will work with this unit?
