Installing alarm /w no factory alarm system?

This is for my 87 260E.

Unfortunately did not come with a factory alarm. Just the vacuum lock system.
How would I install an alarm with this? All the 'kits' I see mention using the alarm system, but since I don't have one...I'm lost on where to start.

Anybody know what direction to take or what I should purchase?
I just want something with a siren when the doors are unlocked without the key and keyless unlock. That would be plenty good enough.

Thanks guys.

With any vacuum lock system you must actuate the drivers door lock system with a solenoid that attaches to the system in such a way that it can control the position of the lock system in the door. The output of the alarm will drive the relays and subsequently move the solenoid to actuate the door lock system. Door lock solenoids are available from any advanced alarm supply websites...

I unplugged my factory alarm on the TE when I installed the Clifford.

You need to build a relay block to trick the vacuum pump into thinking that the door lock has been actuated.

Like this:

http://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#vac

You then need to tap the wire running to the driver door lock. I cannot remember what color the wire is, but IIRC, it should be 0v when unlocked and 12v when locked. I think it was a green wire.

Install relay block into that wire, and then following th diagram on that page, connect it to the alarm brains unlock and lock circuits....

Wire the alarm per instuctions, and voila.

If this is overload, I can go snap some pictures in the AM lol
