So i got sick of my auto antenna being dead, I wanted to replace the same antenna so I purchased the a brand new Hirchmann ($140). It's very similar to the original but there are a few differences that you should know about.

• The outside chrome trim is now smaller and black plastic (downgrade)
• The antenna will no longer have a wound up, medium, and high setting. The new antenna is either up or down via the dashboard switch.
• New antenna bottom doesn't mount to factory hole, it probably should have but i couldn't figure it out. I just drilled and tapped a hole in the new antenna's bottom bracket.
• Wiring in the new antenna requires you to remove the male housing from the old antenna and place three wires in the 1, 2, and 3 position.

About 90 minutes after starting i had a wagon with an auto antenna again! Works great! The only real drawback is i with these replacement antennas do not have chrome outer housings..
