W126 Glove Box CD Changer Fit
Finally got my new CD Changer for Christmas. Mother was feeling generous...well, guilty I guess for forcing me to help her Christmas shop.
The unit is a Sony 6 disk to go with the head unit. It ALMOST fits in the glove box, which is where I would like it. Does anyone have experience modifying a 126 glovebox? It will mount from the top and the door close if I could trim the angle from the back of the glove box. Is there anything from behind on a 300SD that would prevent it from taking up about a 1/2 inch space? Otherwise I'm going to exchange for the 10 disk and put it in the trunk. I just thought the dashboard unit would be MUCH more convenient. Thanks in advance!!!

I think that it would be fine. To be sure, remove the glovebox and see what's back there. All you have to do is disconnect the light (pull down the side with the slot using a flathead screwdriver and un-plug it), remove the plastic tabs (eight of them, I believe) holding it in (the same flathead should be able to pop them out without much work) and unscrew the latch at the top. After that the box should just slide out.
