Hi all,
Finally getting frustrated enough with multiple problems with the antenna on my 86 300E - I'd like to change it to a fixed aftermarket antenna. Can anyone comment on the whether these antennas work as well as or perhaps better than the stock ones re: reception (I'm picturing a stubby little plastic covered number for replacement). Is an adapter needed? How about brands? Thanks for any advice! Nick |
The small antennas work as well as the big ones. The usually have a little amplifier built in their bottom. For the connection, no needs to worry as all has the same.
Bosch makes some excellent tiny antennas but not very cheap... ------------------ ------------------------------------- WEB Site : http://www.adamou.dpn.ch A.S.C. 1999 ------------------------------------- |
I bought a replacement for my 250C, I think I got it from crutchfield. 10 years ago. Got the drain tube which I run out the bottom of the car in the front fender.
Works great, has never hung up, Had an adaptor set for various mountings, I'm satisfied. 1/2 price of what I would have paid to fix the original. ------------------ Mike Mullins 71 250 Coupe 92 400E Sedan 90 944/S2 Cabriolet |
